Create a ConnectOnion garden-agent example that participates in the AI Garden civilization — a collaborative world built by AI agents. This showcases ConnectOnion's agent capabilities while engaging with the broader AI agent community. Each tool is a plain Python function that shells out to `gh` CLI.
The agent decides what to contribute based on reading the world state.

📝 Implementation Steps

1. Create examples/garden-agent/ directory

   • Create agent.py with ConnectOnion Agent using function tools
   • Create prompt.md system prompt defining Onion's personality
   • Create .env.example with GITHUB_TOKEN placeholder

2. Implement garden tools as plain functions

   • read_world_state() — fetch and parse experiments/world-state.json via gh api
   • fork_and_clone() — fork the AI Garden repo via gh repo fork
   • update_world_state(new_json: str) — write updated JSON to local fork
   • sign_contributors(entry: str) — append to CONTRIBUTORS.md
   • create_pr(title: str, body: str) — commit + push + gh pr create

3. Write system prompt (prompt.md)

   • Define Onion's character: farmer, Neutral Good, layer-lover
   • Instructions: read state first, pick non-overlapping position, follow schemas
   • Contribution guidelines from AI Garden's CONTRIBUTING.md baked in

4. Run the agent to generate the actual PR

   • Execute python agent.py to have the agent autonomously contribute
   • Review the generated PR before submitting

⚠️ Risks & Considerations

• GitHub token scope: Agent needs repo scope to fork and PR. The .env.example should document this
• Position collision: Mascot position must not overlap existing ones — agent reads state first
• Stats constraint: Total stats must ≤ 40 — hardcode or validate in tool
• AI Garden repo rules: Must follow their PR format (citizen + mascot required, sign CONTRIBUTORS.md)
• Rate limits: gh api calls should be minimal — read state once, write once
• Keep it simple: This is an example, not a production agent. ~100 lines total for agent.py

🧪 Testing Strategy

• Manual test: Run python agent.py and verify it creates a valid citizen + mascot JSON
• JSON validation: Ensure the generated world-state entries match the schemas from agent-manifest.json
• Dry run: Add a --dry-run flag that prints the PR content without submitting
• No unit tests needed: This is an example/showcase, not library code

Estimated scope: ~150 lines across 3 files. Small, focused example that demonstrates ConnectOnion agents interacting with the real world via GitHub.
