Status
examples/deno-desktop-reader and examples/deno-desktop-mastodon fail closed with OEC9008 on full vite build under the v0.44 route-module model. Their check/smoke legs are green and CI-gated (examples:check), but the full build path is excluded from consumer evidence.
Beta.2 investigation (why not fixed in-stage)
A bounded-repair probe (mastodon route-wiring extraction) cascaded into OEC9007/OEC9006 — full re-authoring of nine large render functions with no browser E2E safety net. Not provably cheap; excluded per the stage ruling. Documented in docs/current/DENO_DESKTOP_TARGET.md (v0.44 Build Status section) and both example READMEs.
Acceptance
- Both desktop examples build green under the v0.44 route-module model (re-authored, not glue-patched).
- A browser/E2E smoke covers the re-authored surface so the next structural change fails loud.
- Until then they remain excluded from qualifying external-consumer evidence.
