⚠️ Check issue is valid.

⚠️ Check that this issue hasn't been reported before.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Create a File1.md with content:
# Heading 1
- [ ] Task 1 referencing [[#Heading 1]]
  1. Create File2.md with content:
This query will show Task 1. Click on the wikilink to Heading 1:
```tasks
```
You will receive the error message `File 2 does not contain Heading 1`
  1. Read content of File2.md

Expected Behavior

Clicking on [[#Heading 1]] through the query view directs the user to File1.md#Heading 1

Current behaviour

Clicking on [[#Heading 1]] through the query view directs the user to File2.md#Heading 1.
This results in an error.

Obsidian Version

Checks

  • I have tried it with all other plugins disabled and the error still occurs

Possible solution

Workaround: Use [[File 1#Heading1]] instead of [[#Heading 1]].

Hi, thanks for reporting this.

The reproduction steps are clever but confusing - and also error-prone:

Image

Please change them so they use fenced code blocks like this for the two files.

Thank you.

I'll leave this open for a day or two, in the hope that you can do this...

Super - thank you.

It sounds familiar, but I cannot find an existing issue so I will leave it open.
