Limit root node to have N children maximum when opening new windows #990
-
The only tiling window manager I used before was DWM, and that was about 10 years ago. So I might be not remembering things right. And I never used I3. My goal is to have 2 columns, with primary app on the left, and supplementary apps on the right. If it's more than 1 supplementary apps, I want them to split horizontally (one above another), both on the right from my main app in that workspace. (would also be nice to be able to bring supplementary apps across workspaces, but I know that's not possible at the moment) Question: is there a way to at least partially achieve this? To force never having more than 2 windows in the root node? That every window after 2nd would be added into the last root node, which will become vertical tiles? and if it's possible to change the default split ratio? It's not that much work to manually do this, but if you consider that layout resets every time that my browser goes to fullscreen, it quickly becomes annoying |
