Motivation

To inform IBM how to help us configure the SCALE system we need to provide them more details about how we intend to use SCALE System.

These use case will be driven by:

  • Testing goals
  • Exposing GPFS storage to OpenShift and bare metal clusters in the NERC and MOC
  • Use GPFS as a fast tier and off loading unused files to cheaper slower storage.
  • and by a desire to allow researches to bring in already existing datasets and use and share them.

This will help identify things which are easy to accomplish and things which are unrealistic in the current version of Scale, but present in a future roadmap for SCALE, or unlikely to ever be part of the SCALE system.

These use cases should be ordered by priority and complexity by us to help focus the engagement.
