Describe the bug
I tried installing SideStore, but every time I've gotten the same error: "Failed to create documents directory: device socket io failed"

• iloader version: 1.1.6
• Package Format: .dmg

Please certify your device is:

• [Y] Has a passcode set
• [Y] is connected to your computer over USB

If any of those things are not true, please fix them and then try again before opening this issue.

• Device: iPhone 16 Pro
• OS: iOS 26.3

Apple Account

• Paid/Free Developer Account?: free
• Two-Factor (2FA) type: Trusted Device

I installed it last week and it worked, but I uninstalled it for some reason, and now it won't install the Place Pairing File.

I've seen a lot of people reporting this lately and Im beginning to suspect something was broken with iOS 26.3

That's the only thing I can think of. I restarted both devices, cleared the cache between them, unpaired and repaired (USB, Bluetooth, WiFi) I tried everything I could think of, but alas, still nothing. Do you have an idea what could have broke?

On Place Pairing File, I get [failed to place pairing: Failed to create Documents directory: device socket io failed] on iphone 17 pro max ios 26.3 (23D5114d), I tried to use idevice_pair cuz why not, and i get the same error device socket io failed for both sidestore and stikdebug but for livecontainer it says afc error: Object not found

This is an issue with Apple. I've reported it as a security issue. Nothing can be done except waiting.

For anyone experiencing this issue, I cannot do anything to fix it right now as this is a bug on apple's side. In the meantime, you can use idevice_pair to export a pairing file and manually transfer it to your device.

The recent changes have been reverted by Apple in 26.3 RC and iloader is now able to place pairing files again. If you are experiencing this issue on 26.3 beta 3, please update.
