Registration failed: Host requires authentication #6657
-
I get this in my logs "Registration failed: Host requires authentication" and of course it means that I can't register my server with mumble. I really need to get my server registered. What is the problem? I'm on FedoraServer41 and mumble 1.4.287 . My server host is jesusislord.se . Could it be that I'm refused registration because my old server died and this is a new server with the wrong registerPassword? If so, how long do I need to wait for the old server registration to be erased? Or is the problem perhaps more complex like ciphers and such? |

@davidebeatrici is the expert for this. However, if your server happens to use the same certificate as the old one but uses a new register password, then the authentication will fail, I think (maybe using the same IP is already enough - not sure). |

If so, you have to wait for the old entry in the server list to disappear before you can register your new server.
