Email activation Error #56

When I click on the email to activate my account, it gives 404 error. The activation key looks incorrect with maybe some illegal characters. Any known fix for this?

i.e. the link for activation is:

http://XXXXXXXXXXX.com/webaqc/index.php/registration/registration/activation/key/%242a%2413%24qtUbNhKaJtxNRIysgnb6Pe%2FlbN%2F%2FUvi9AC9VP90OV1cEZXN1h.nuu/email/tomjones%40mXXXXx.com
