Key Learnings and Takeaways
I learned new concepts and refreshed my knowledge about basics of agents in Copilot Studio.
Created IT Help Desk Agent from scratch, used natural language to create initial agent and extended it with knowledge, topics, agent flow. Created Solution that holds my agent and its artifacts.
Added autonomous capabilities to the agent to help employees resolve IT issues faster and more efficient.
Enhanced user agent interactions with adaptive cards.
Created SharePoint website for grounding agents.
Published Agent in different channels and tested it.
Learned about licensing in Copilot Studio.
Challenges Faced
In "Mission 00: Course Setup" was missing some details for SharePoint website regarding Devices that employee can chose from (ex. Model, Price, Asset Type, etc.). Because of this later in the course, when I was testing agent topic that was accessing that info, agent failed to show available devices and their details. I searched that info in the web and added it to the SharePoint site and agent was able to get necessary details to test the agent.
Also, in "Mission 07: Add new topic with trigger and nodes" SharePoint connector topic configuration should be checked in variable names configuration. There were some instructions misconfigurations in the names of variables.
One more issue was in "Mission 10: Add Event Triggers - Enable autonomous agent capabilities" with Send an email (V2) - Office 365 Output connector. Because later when I was testing agent it asked email of employee that was submitting issue in SharePoint site, and in instructions and in SharePoint site there was no field to input employee email so the agent would fill it dynamically.
Final Thoughts
Thanks for the great course! I learned a lot. It was interesting to configure all parts of the agent and see its capabilities in action.
It seems like course well rounded for beginning with agents in Copilot Studio. More advanced features probably will be added in later courses. You could check all instructions and details for missions and eliminate minor issues that I mentioned in previous section.
Also, you could encourage learners to save outputs (solutions, triggers, licensing notes) as reusable templates for future projects, create backups for their work and give them instructions how to do it.
