Hi, I've been trying for a couple of days now and at my wits end (is that correctly spelled?) In my multi-app repo, There's one app that has a dependency on an external AppSource app. Normally not an issue, however, this build simply won't process correctly, even though:
When I manually download the exact app from the provided link, extract it and use that specific app file in my local repo, it simply compiles. The (part of the) log: For example, the first missing object IS present in the downloaded PrintVis AS_PrintVis_27.4.1.1.app file 
Does anyone have any idea on how to solve this?? Thanks a million! |

@petertijsma from the logs I can assume that the packages for the dependency apps are symbols-only. That means that you can compile against them, but you cannot publish and them. Technically, you can publish them, but then you hit that error. See #1714 (comment) for more details. |

Hi @mazhelez , I would expect that if I'm listing this appsource app as a dependency, it would automatically download the correct app from AppSource. Are there other ways to have it complete successfully? For example, I do have access to the OnPrem apps (same app-id). Can't i simply add the app file somewhere to reference it (as a temperary fix)? Thanks again and excuse my ignorance :-) |

Well, you cannot simply download an appsource app. These apps have protected IP, so you cannot install them locally, on a container. If you have access to the app packages (not only symbols), you can use installApps settings to pull them during your build. The fix we will be working on is to enable publishing and running tests on sandbox environments, where app source apps can be installed without an issue. |

Well, you cannot simply download an appsource app. These apps have protected IP, so you cannot install them locally, on a container.
If you have access to the app packages (not only symbols), you can use installApps settings to pull them during your build.
The fix we will be working on is to enable publishing and running tests on sandbox environments, where app source apps can be installed without an issue.
