Routes and tracks

Is there any support for, or plan to add support for routes and/or tracks? A quick grep shows a few references to rtept and trkpt, but importing a gpx file with either of these didn't work for me.

I don't have an Apple watch, but I was thinking that if I can find an app that will display an series of waypoints it would be great for sailboat racing. Between the possible splashing or dropping of a phone, and the need to scurry around the boat, a phone isn't really a great idea. A watch app that can display the distance and bearing to the next waypoint in the race would be super convenient and a good reason to justify buying a watch.

Displaying waypoints for all the marks along the race course is better than nothing, but not as good as displaying the distance and bearing to one mark at a time in order.
