On touch highlighting and scrolling is making scrolling feel "janky"

Not sure if "janky" is the right word, but currently when we touch any item on the home page (channel, DM), it highlights it. This itself is fine and expected, but when I'm trying to scroll through that list, it also keeps highlighting anything that my finger touches. The constant highlighting while scrolling is making the experience not as good. Granted this is nitpicking and definitely not a priority, but just something I've observed right off the bat after using the app for 2 days. Such issue is not observed on other apps. Please see screenshot for an example of the highlighting I was talking about.

This is on the latest Android app (2.24.1)
