Android App frequent crashes

Summary

App crashes randomly. Have found 3 (unrelated?) instances:

1. Open emoji picker, you do not need to do anything else (phone only).
2. Switch channels in rapid succession (with aid of android back button) (phone only).
3. Attempted use of find channels (both devices).

Environment Information

• Device Name: Galaxy S21 Ultra & Galaxy S9 Tab Ultra
• OS Version: Android 14 both
• Mattermost App Version: 2.23.1
• Mattermost Server Version: 10.3.1

Steps to reproduce

Described in above.

Expected behavior

It shouldn't crash.

Observed behavior (that appears unintentional)

App crashes; sometimes there is a popup.

Tablet just now:
Was in the middle of typing a message and it closed on me. Tapped a message to get into the thread, started typing, and the app closed, erasing the message. Reopen, was successful.

The latest update still does not solve this bug.

App Version: 2.24.1 (Build 6000593)

Hi @amyblais,
I don't mean to rush, but this bug has persisted for over 2 months. Is there any progress or investigation on this? The mobile app is effectively unusable.

I have also been having this issue for over a month now as well. App crashes without having to perform any actions at all: merely opening it and leaving it untouched leads to it crashing (random timeframe between 0 seconds (instant) and, so far, 20 seconds), regardless of what screen it was last left off on (individual channel, channel/server picker, DM).

• Mattermost Server Version: 10.3.1

I have attempted to clear cache, clear data, and do a fresh reinstall of it, all of which has not worked to solve this.
