Jamku Chat Survey

On 22nd March 2022, we ran Survey for Jamku users to collect feedback on how they communicate between team members.
Here's the response / survey results.

Q1. How do you communicate between team members?

A thumping majority of users use "WhatsApp / Telegram" to communicate between team members for their office work.
Checkout pitfalls of using WhatsApp for official inter team communication.

We provided users with 4 Options and to specify their own Answer

This was an open text field. here are some of the interesting responses.

• It can serve trail of communication for each task between team members and also serve as audit trail

• Inbuilt "Chat" and "Notification for chat & task etc" will enhance our work efficiency and we will able to establish great communication system between our team members and definitely it will create 10 times value addition for Jamku also.

• Allow attachments in chat

• CHAR CHAND LAG JAYENGE SIR... English Translation - "Splendid"

• Usual feature with audio message

• Chat would be such a nice feature for jamku. I would suggest: 1. Group and individual chat options 2. Option to tag team member, client, task, hearing, etc.

• It should help if it can see when a particular task is having a due date , and remind team members well before that

• Link with Task, recorded in notes

• Make it simple and elegant with proper notification with message read functionality

• It will be great if you link it with WhatsApp. So not only team member even communication with clients will also added advantage

• Care should be taken to avoid personal chat in this feature

Next Steps

Since overwhelming user have responded that they would love 😍 to have integrated Chat and Notification, we have already started planning for this. Here's some initial thoughts around this.

1. It will have 2 types of messages - Automated (generated by jamku), Manual (user chats)

2. Users will be able to configure for themselves which all "Automated" messages they should be receiving from Jamku.
   Examples of automated message:

   1. Task note is added
   2. Task is marked as Stuck

3. There will be "Jamku Bot" which will send basic reminders.
   Examples:

   1. In Morning - Tasks which are due today
   2. In evening - Time to add Work Done (if not already added)

Pitfalls of using WhatsApp for office communication

For offices, it is important to separate office communication from private communication.
First, a dedicated messaging app allows faster access and gives a better overview of everything that is relevant for the internal team communication, and thus increases the productivity.
Second, the motivation and satisfaction of employees are improved with a dedicated office messaging tool since people value a separation of private and office communication.
