Description
Abhaya allows users to register emergency contacts for safety and emergency assistance. However, there is currently no mechanism to verify whether the added contact actually belongs to the intended recipient.
Adding an emergency contact verification workflow would improve reliability and reduce the chances of sending alerts to incorrect contacts.
Proposed Solution
Introduce a verification process for emergency contacts before they become active.
Suggested Changes
- Add a verification status for emergency contacts
- Generate a verification code or link
- Allow contacts to confirm their association
- Display Verified/Pending status in the UI
- Restrict emergency activation for unverified contacts
- Ensure mobile-friendly implementation
Expected Outcome
Users can trust that emergency alerts will only be sent to verified contacts, improving the effectiveness of the safety system.
