Proposal LUD 22 LNURL fiat link / UMA #276
Description
As fiat link is stalled and UMA uses a proprietary format, we suggest adding a new LUD that makes LNaddresses taproot asset and off ramping compatible in a user friendly and interoperable way.
The idea is that simply adding a $ in front of the address signals to the receiving wallet that the user wishes to receive a non Bitcoin asset.
And then in front of the $ the user can add the three or for letter identifier. e.g.
EUR$[email protected] for Euro
or
USDT$[email protected] for Tether
This allows the user to quickly and intuitively set the asset they want to receive and low-kyc or taproot asset wallets to properly handle it, while the metadata can still convey kyc or UMA info.
So $[email protected] can be treated by the receiving wallet as a UMA address or simply an offramp in the user's default asset.
