Just upgraded from Mint 22 to Mint 22.1. While my laptop has function keys for volume control, I also use the gesture program to bind three fingers up for volume up and three fingers down for volume down. While I like the new volume dialogue, it only appears when using the laptop function keys, and not when I use the touchpad gesture. When using the touchpad, I do see the volume bars beside the speaker icon on the panel indicate volume is moving higher and lower.
Interestingly, if I activate the pop-up dialogue using the function keys and then use the trackpad gestures while the dialogue is visible, the line indicating the volume level moves to the next line and the dialogue disappears.
I tried this on the live ISO and the same behaviour exists.
Steps to reproduce
Bind gestures to the touchpad for volume up and volume down. I use three fingers up for volume up and three fingers down for volume down.
Adjust volume using the touchpad.
While volume increases and decreases (as expected), no volume dialogue pop-up appears.
Also, adjust the volume in a way to bring up the pop-up dialogue (eg through function keys), and use the trackpad gestures while the dialogue is still visible. The volume indicator bar jumps to a line lower, and the dialogue pop-up disappears. Looks normal again when using the function keys.
Expected behavior
Expected to show the volume dialogue pop-up when using trackpad gestures. This worked fine under Mint 22.
