Description
I've been using Linux Mint as my only 'daily driver' for quite a while, and I love it.
The only challenge I have at the moment (and it seems as if it doesn't really effect performance) is an acpi error message each time I shutdown the laptop.
I tried to update the BIOS using the .exe file and instructions from Dell's website, but when powering up and going into the Flash BIOS page (via F2 key), the BIOS 'flash from file' states the following:
"Firmware Update is not permitted."
"The BIOS flash is not compatible with the current system."
I believe I followed Dell's instructions for BIOS update accurately, but there is a chance I'm doing something incorrectly...
One additional step I took was to edit/save/update the command line in grub to reflect Linux as the OS:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash acpi_osi=Linux"
I am attaching a copy of the crash report; if additional information/details are needed, please let me know.
Thanks in advance for any and all help.
