It’s been about 9 years since CIMBA was actively developed. The Solid ecosystem and the wider social web have evolved significantly, and it may be a good time to revisit it.
I’d like to explore three possible directions:
- Standalone client-side app: lightweight modern microblog UI, Solid-OIDC compatible, no server changes required.
- solidOS pane: integrate CIMBA directly within solidOS as a first-class pane.
- ActivityPub bridge: map CIMBA data to ActivityStreams 2.0 to interoperate with the Fediverse.
Suggested next steps:
- Audit the existing data model
- Define a minimal MVP
- Assess ActivityPub mapping feasibility
