Search Box Clearing Button

A relatively minor nitpick I have is that there isn't a button to clear any of the search fields. For example:

Note that in both of these cases, they only appear when text is actually entered in the box.

Don't know why it bothered me - I am the kind of guy that dies inside a little whenever I see somebody click the 'New Tab' button in their browser - but it did bother me, somehow.

I guess it's just one of those things that is on every site and in every app, but I didn't notice until it was missing. I now have an understanding for Jakob's Law that I didn't have before. 🙃
