Discarding vtx

Discarding the vertex output scheme causes post-proc to break. We should think of what to do? Eg. keep it in remage and discard only after post-processing

after any changes, this feature should also work in the other configurations we have (with --flat-output where no post-proc in python happens). Which makes this unfortunately a bit more complex...
