User login fails under specific conditions after updating. #12995

Observed behavior

users are unable to log in using their existing credentials. This issue occurs after the update is applied, preventing access to the platform.

Errors and logs

The login fails with an error message.
"Invalid username or password. Please try again."

Expected behavior

The login process should proceed as normal.

User-facing consequences

Inability to Access the Platform
Frustration and Confusion
Loss of Productivity

Steps to reproduce

Upgrade to newest Version

Ensure that the platform has been upgraded to a stable version.
Open the Kolibri Application

Launch the Kolibri app or navigate to the web interface.
Attempt to Log In with Existing Credentials

Enter a username and password that was previously working before the upgrade.
Observe the Error Message

After submitting the login credentials, the user is shown the following message:
"Invalid username or password. Please try again."
Even when the credentials are correct, the login fails and the error message persists.

A note from me that I have tested the upgrade from Kolibri 0.15.0 to Kolibri 0.17.5 on both Ubuntu and Windows devices and I am not able to replicate the issue described above so any additional info will be much appreciated!
