Bug Description

Hi,

this is across all platforms (iOS, Android, macOS) - when the user has a lot of rooms (for example users that mainly use matrix bridges), the app becomes close to unusable. Every keystroke and every scroll is briefly freezing the app

Example: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/igisndc7vua7vy1vzal68/ScreenRecording_01-03-2025-18-45-26_1.mov?rlkey=dlomvkukapsqrj1kq7nz4uu7n&st=toywz5g3&dl=0

I'm using Conduwuit as homeserver but after chatting a bit in the fluffychat matrix room I heard from other users with similar issues when using a lot of rooms. I reproduced this behavior on all platforms - Android, iPad, macOS Desktop, iPhone and macOS Web

On macOS in Safari, the memory size keeps growing and at some point the web page just stays white

Image

My theory is that there's a memory leak somewhere

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Login to homeserver that uses a lot of bridges and rooms
  2. Try using Fluffychat
  3. The app starts lagging, the device heating up

Expected Behavior

  • Fluffychat is usable as normal

App Version

1.24
