The cachedir ('cache') does not exist, isn't accessible or writable. You should check your config and permission settings. Or maybe you want to run the installer?

Hello folks, sorry to wake up this old issue, but the archive.org copies are now offline too (due to a robots.txt files prohibiting access) - is there any other way of gaining access to them? We've got a few old sites that are stuck with 2.3.4, and having documentation for the developers who have to maintain it would be a huge help. Happy to provide a host for the wiki if needed.
