How to install an addon. [HELP]

As a beginner, how do I install an addon. Didn't see any steps anywhere.

For Eg. I would like to add 16x2 LCD.

I have the same problem. I plan to construct a webradio using karadio32. As display I got I2C 16x2 HD44780. I was happy to find

I looked into the io files. It seems these are programs for ESP8266. On the karadio32 page found "addons compatible."
But I do not know howto add the addon to the main programs and howto configure it. Can you help?
