APP: Filter keywords but some not shown

Trying to filter keyword with Jonathan inside:

Expected: All contacts name that contains Jonathan

Actual:

As mentioned in the UG that we can get name that contains the keyword but it does not show in the App. This can actually cause some inconvenience for the user and is not a rare situation as is normal for user to do the same thing as above.

Team's Response

Name should contain the entire keyword by itself. The name NOTjonathan does not contain the WORD Jonathan, and therefore will not be filtered.

Consider this scenario whereby the app has 4 applicants:

• Jon
• Jonathan
• Jonny
• Jonah
• noJon

If you consider an alternative implementation, where we filter as long as it appears in the instance of the name, then filtering by the letter Jon will get all 5 applicants, which is not the desired outcome.

Reason for disagreement: Firstly, it was not mentioned in the UG that the name should contain the entire keyword by itself. The UG only mentioned about filter the name that contains the keywords.(Shown from the image at original issue) So some user will have similar response that why when they enter Jonathan, they will not get the result of NotJonathan. Thus it still consider the valid functionality bug as it differs from what was expected from UG.
