1. Where do I want to live? How will that change over upcoming years?
   • Consider family members and friends on the east coast
   • Consider friends and community (professional and social) that has been cultivated on west coast
   • Consider the impact of possibly taking time off in the future
   • Consider where we could see a future together in the 1-2 year timeline
2. What is my goal of applying to Fulbright? How can I actually have the desired impact / support ACR the best?
   • Consider the personal challenge that would involve going to India
   • Consider the personal difficulty in writing and gathering the application materials (consider inherent laziness and ease of just not doing it...)
   • Consider that I've already told everyone that I'm applying!!
   • Consider that my impact or contributions may be more useful elsewhere (important point)
   • Consider that I won't necessarily have time in the future to do work / take time off
   • Consider the type of work environment that would allow me this flexibility (HDR Seattle has already agreed to time off! This seems abnormal)
   • Consider funding opportunities and taking time off, as balanced with the potential of having secured employment
3. What are my actual future goals and plans? What do I enjoy doing?
   • Consider boredom / unfulfillment that is augmented by moments of excitement and fulfillment!
   • Consider joy in working with people and facilitating work environments
   • Consider efforts in organization, task management, communication, and delegation
   • Consider goals of empowerment and support, and the fact that engineering is one tool of many
   • Consider possible grad school opportunities in public health or policy, and how that relates to career changes (Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation)
4. What do I need to figure out now, vs what can be figured out as I go?
   • Consider the need to apply to other jobs
   • Consider that I don't need to let HDR know until Thanksgiving what I want to do (timeline flexible)
   • Consider that everything is OK! And these are all good options and thoughts and that I'm lucky to have them!
