Kinds of corporations in the US:

  • C-Corporation (aka "Conventional Corporation") — a for-profit
  • B-Corporation (aka "Benefit Corporation") (wikipedia) —
    • a director is required to consider other public benefits in addition to profit
    • must publish annual benefit reports of their social and environmental performance using a comprehensive, credible, independent, and transparent third-party standard
  • Consumer's Co-operative (wikipedia)
    • co-op in service of customers
  • Retailer's Co-operative (wikipedia)
    • co-op where in retailer's combine their purchasing power for economies of scale
