Got exactly the same problem (blank screen & console hang) sometime after
installing DVDx.
So I uninstalled DVDx and ftpii is back working for me.

Same problem here, can't tell exactly what IOSes are, but DVDX isn't installed,
so uninstalling it won't fix anything!

However version 0.20 works fine for me, I've attached it to this post in case
the file gets deleted from the main server:
http://code.google.com/p/ftpii/downloads/detail?name=ftpii_0.0.20.zip&can=2&q=

Hope the team will understand what's the problem, if required, I'm ready to run
executables they provide to test specifically and pin down the issue.
