Can't increase server memory

I can't increase server memory, i recreated container with
MEMORY = 8G included in docker-compose.yml
tried
Docker run -e itzg/minecraft-server MEMORY = 8G
i'm absolute noob in docker, i'm sorry if i'm doing something wrong.
I would be very grateful if someone could help me

MEMORY: 8G

You have to keep the assignment consistent I think. So, only = or only :. Not both.

that's worked! now server uses 8gb minimum an 8gb maximum, is there any way to make server use minimum 2gb and maximum 8g?
