Description
Motivation
MEV (Miner Extractable Value) and front-running attacks pose risks to transaction ordering and fairness in high-throughput protocols like Linear Leios. By clarifying definitions, attack vectors, and dependencies on dApp designs and mempool consistency, we can inform protocol parameters (e.g., L_vote, mempool models) and ensure optimistic performance assumptions hold, especially under varying mempool overlap.
Customers
- Researchers and protocol designers (e.g., to refine Linear Leios security and performance models).
- dApp developers (e.g., DEX builders) seeking guidance on MEV-resistant designs.
- Cardano community and stakeholders for educational resources on risks and mitigations.
Outcomes
- A single comprehensive, publishable document on MEV in Linear Leios, including definitions, classifications, vulnerable tx types, nested tx impacts, and visuals.
- Validated insights tied to CIP-0164's optimistic and security assumptions, feeding into protocol refinements.
