Can there be a problem if I install the dummy-service into all wine prefixes ?

Basically, instead of having to figure out manually if a game requires it, I simply run the installation .bat file automatically when I install Windows games from GOG. Is that safe to do?

AFAIK, the service is only required because some SDK versions check if the service with the given name exists, the service doesn't have to do anything.

It' safe to use in every wine prefix. But be aware this is something that conflicts with GOG Galaxy, as it registers the service under the same name and location as the official client

I don't use the GOG Galaxy client, if that is what you meant. I am using a homebrew game launcher and wanted to integrate comet without having to manually install the service into each game prefix :)

Just to be sure: the only problem that arises is if I would install a game using GOG Galaxy inside a prefix, as the prefix would already contain the service and it would get overwritten. Is that correct?
