Not tried this, no clue how anyway, but my educated guess is that it will completely screw up the formatting of "old-fashioned" tables, where the borders are made up from '+', '-', and '|', and the format is obtained via the use of spaces (0x20). We create these files on z/OS.
I've tried dozens of on-line RTF-2-HTML generators, and all of them do the same, whereas they should look for "excessive" whitespace after and before '|' characters, and in this case use either <pre>....</pre> or whitespace:preserve spans.
Just a suggestion.
