We should re-enable the build of the cmbenv docker container, for use in production HPC environments. Here are some notes:

  • Use just the latest common python version (e.g. 3.9)
  • Build different MPI flavors: mpich-3.x and openmpi-4.x for ABI compatibility with different host system environments
