Enable the switch "Inverter is powered by solar modules" in the DPL settings:

Other DPL settings (those that are still presented when this switch is enabled), apply to all systems and are described in the For all options look here (Dynamic-Power-Limiter).

Inverter is powered by solar modules: a.If you have connected the inverter to a battery= This option must remain deactivated. b.If you have no battery thus the inverter is connected to your solar panels= If you activate this option, the Dynamic Power Limiter will NOT DEACTIVATE the inverter when there is no electricity consumption; instead, the inverter will be set to the limit according to the settings of "Base Load" (see below).

Base Load: Used in case of no PowerMeter/lost connection to PowerMeter. It will set inverter production (if possible) to this limit.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR USERS UPDATING THEIR SYSTEM FROM PREVIOUS VERSIONS

If you had already set the parameters for "operation without a battery" with previous Firmware versions and set the threshold values for battery utilisation to 0 or 1

temp

In newer Firmware versions, you only need to enable the "Inverter is powered by solar modules" switch.

If this is activated, the input masks for the threshold values are deactivated.

However, 0 and 1 were still the values here, but the minimum value is now specified as 16.

Currently, there is no error message if the values (not displayed) are incorrect.

The situation however may cause the inverter to switch off.

If you experience such a situation, please proceed with the following steps:

  • Disable "operation without a battery"
  • Check the threshold values and correcting the values to 16
  • Save your settings
  • Enable "operation without a battery" again
  • Save your settings

The inverter should no longer turn off

Compensation for shaded modules/inputs by overscaling

This feature only applies to solar-powered inverters and is included in firmware starting from release 2024.06.??.

By default the currently consumed energy reported by the power meter is set as the inverter limit to achieve zero feed in. When one or multiple inputs are delivering less power than others, e.g. because of shading on a module, the inverter limit will be too low to deliver the required amount of energy.

To workaround this issue there is a toggle in the dynamic power limiter settings called 'Compensate for shading' that will overscale the inverter limit to allow other inputs to compensate for the shaded inputs. This only applies if at least one other input matches its currently set limit.

This does not work with all inverters, you can read more about supported inverters here: Compensate for shading
