Request for enhanced map of India with distinct border between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and valid parts of Jammu&Kashmir

Hello Highcharts,

I would like to request a new map for India that would have distinct border between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and valid parts of Jammu&Kashmir as well. It seems like the 3 out-of-the-box Indian maps from Highcharts have either of the one but not both. At my company when we reached out to support, we were instructed to put our requests for new map data here in this repo.

Please let us know if you require any inputs from us.

Thank you for submitting the map request.
Do you have a recommended map source of a reference map?
It could be used to make sure that a new map will have the features you are looking for and the required details level, name, etc.
If there map division has changed due to some geopolitical changes it would be great to know when and what changed. I can get the data from the official web sites and other sources but maybe your requirements are more specific.

valid parts of Jammu&Kashmir

Is the Jammu&Kashmir in https://jsfiddle.net/gh/get/jquery/1.11.0/highslide-software/highcharts.com/tree/master/samples/mapdata/countries/in/in-all meeting your requirements? If not, please elaborate.

There are at least 3 ways to draw a map for that world region. Should the map have Jammu&Kashmir and Ladakh as 2 regions instead of the current 1? With or without the light blue with lines area in here? If there is a country/government regulated body that would define what the map should look like then it would be easier to name that map in the Map Collection correctly - maybe you could recommend something @dalmiasunidhi ? I am not finding consistent answers online.

J&K in the above fiddle is meeting my requirements. Only thing missing is the distinction within Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. If we can create a map which has the above J&K and the distinct pink line between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, then we should be good.

So, by when can we expect the map to be available for consumption? Asking this so that I can answer my customer accordingly.

At this very moment we do not have ETA for the new version of the map, but I will try to get this issue prioritized and get back to you with more info and a live demo as soon as there's a new map available, so it can be tested before the next Map Collection release that is planned for Q4.2024-Q1.2025.
