Frontend not working

I've decided to give this repo a go instead of wuxt and I'm having an issue running the project.
I'm getting a 500 server error.

The env.dist file in the frontend is with blank values.
I don't think it's configured properly.

Why is there two variables for the same thing & one blank?
Could this be the cause for the project not to run frontend?

I've tried to run this project again with updating the env variable with no success. I was wondering if you could post a working example? Thank you
