Apple developers have long realized that most designers are complete idiots. They (designers) do not know anything and do not want to learn the rules for creating names for fonts and other important parameters that should be followed.
MakOS ignores, or automatically corrects a lot of errors, but MS Windows does not do this. Therefore, many fonts created by designers using macOS do not work on MS Windows.
