Hi,
Some weeks ago I sent this to grayjay mail, but I receive no answer:
Hi,
I think the Subscription Exchange is a great idea, but I couldn't find a clear explanation on the website of its privacy model.
Could you clarify two points?
1. Is the data uploaded to the Exchange associated in any way with uploader metadata (IP, device/user identifiers, etc.)?
2. Is there any persistent storage, logging, analysis, or correlation between uploaded data and its source over time?
I'm not questioning the concept itself, I'd just like to understand the privacy guarantees before enabling it and I could't find them online.
I think sharing this information is a good thing when users do so knowingly and willingly. However, without enough information about how the system works, it can understandably create distrust.
That said, I apologize if this information is already detailed on the website and I simply haven't been able to find it.
Thanks!
I am still interested in knowing the privacy details about this subscription exchange functionality.
I have disabled it by now until having more information of what I am really sharing.
Thank you very much!
