Is the webOS receiver deprecated? #89
|
I'm pretty sure of the answer, but the repo has some somewhat conflicting information and attitude toward the deprecation status of the WebOS receiver. On the last release of the WebOS receiver in August of last year, it has this note: Warning This receiver is deprecated. Existing installations may continue to work, but no further updates, bug fixes, or support for future protocol versions is currently planned. However, issues like #41 and #77 remain open. With #77 being created after the supposed deprecation of the WebOS receiver. The WebOS receiver is also listed as a supported application in the readme. With those points in mind, can we get a final statement on the status of the WebOS Receiver? |

Thank you for flagging the inconsistencies. To clarify, yes, the WebOS (and Tizen) receivers are deprecated as the warning notice states. I back-edited the release notes to include the notice, but I'll add a date so the timeline isn't ambiguous, and also address the main readme/open issues. The community is welcome to fork or continue development though to address existing issues on specific devices or improve the receivers. |
