Arduino + KNX on a single PCB

Hello,

Congratulations for this repo, it's not so easy to find open resources about KNX on the web!
I am thinking of creating an open source hardware PCB for KNX projects, but with the NCN5120 instead of the Siemens transceiver, because the latter is not stocked by major parts distributors.
Do you know if there is anything in the library that makes it specific to the TPUART chipset, or could it work with a NCN5120 instead?

Yes indeed we tried with the NCN5120 and it worked fine, at least in our limited use case (similar to https://thingtype.com/blog/hacking-a-knx-bus-with-an-arduino-like-board/). We bought a NCN51205GEVB eval board, disconnected the onboard MCU to use an Arduino board instead (with a digital isolator in-between), and managed to communicate with other KNX devices on the network.

I guess that we only use a limited subset of the KNX protocol, for which the NCN5120 and the TPUART can be used similarly. That doesn' seem to be the case for everything though, since for come functions the addresses clearly differ between the two.

Hello everyone,

first of all, thank you very much for this great project. For a long time I didn't find any or little information about the connection of my own project to the knx bus.

Now I found this project by chance and am very interested in it.
@ghost Do you still need an open source circuit board? If so, i would like to develop one and make it available.

I would prefer to use the esp8266 together with the NCN5120 chip on one circuit board.

I'm not working on my knx projects at the moment because I bought a house last year and am currently renovating it. I have prepared everything for various own knx devices such as humidity sensors for flower pots or led controls for indirect lighting. Therefore, the topic will soon become actual for me again.
What kind of hardware do you imagine? Would you provide suitable free available software for this?

@habergmann I am not good at software, and I am a hardware engineer, want to try knx on openhab
