Export plugin metrics?

Is there any plan to export the plugin metrics, like the currently written payload size in bytes to the corresponding opensearch server or buffer size?

For example, the fluent-plugin-splunk-hec exports:

I am not sure if this is the right place, or if it is rather a request for the fluent-plugin-prometheus plugin?
