Cue note rgplua wipes out layer 1. So I can tell if it solves the other problem (see next)
Describe the solution you'd like
Create layer 4 cues (as expected) without wiping out Layer 1 - but also unlinking the rests between score and part as usually the rests in Layer 1 need to be adjusted in the part but left alone in the score.
Describe alternatives you've considered
There's a 1993 method in FInale that can work - but right now I have 20 parts, each with multiple cue notes and grokking this is time-consuming, and invites errors. So I make a separate parts cores (which is less time consuming, but invites errors).
the grok method "- in the part entering both the cue notes and the Whole Rests in the same layer, via the Speedy Entry Tool feature Voice 1 / Voice 2 (Whole Rest in V1, cue notes in V2),"

@cantgetmyusername Have you tried the Cue Notes Overlay script instead of Cue Notes Create? I think it will solve your issue of not wanting to wipe out Layer 1, though I'm not sure about the rest unlinking.
Yes/ I finally discovered the overlay which cures the overwrite problem, but the rests are linked. I can't move them independently, that is, keep them in default position on the score on layer one but movable in the part. To be sure, this is appears to be a Finale defect, and there are many posts in the forum about the V1 V2 method I copied in my request. But a once-and-for-all solution would no doubt be appreciated by many. Some of us might even pay for it!
