Bug: "Set Files as default file manager" not switching

Description

When I try to set Files as the default file manager, the switch immediately turns off

Steps To Reproduce

Open Files
Go to settings > Advanced
Try turn on "Set Files as default file manager".

3.9.1.0

Windows Version

10.0.26100.4652

In addition, I found that all file icons in the application directory have a small yellow lock pattern.

Thanks for the report, Please make sure you have

• UAC (User account control) enabled at 2nd level from the bottom or above
• Restarted Windows

If it doesn't work after you have done that then unfortunately you won't be able to use Files as default unless you reinstall Windows.

The yellow lock icon means the files are encrypted, all packaged apps are and is intended
