Job Description

We are seeking a senior-level Filecoin and IPFS Protocol Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will leverage deep expertise in decentralized storage to develop and maintain our core infrastructure. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our IPFS and Filecoin-based storage solutions, from initial data ingestion to long-term retrieval. You will work closely with our development and engineering teams to design, test, and implement robust solutions that meet the specific needs of our users.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement core features related to Filecoin and IPFS integrations, focusing on stability and scalability.
• Optimize data storage and retrieval processes on the Filecoin network, including managing storage deals, retrievals, and proofs.
• Architect and build a resilient IPFS layer for content addressing, data pinning, and rapid retrieval.
• Collaborate with the development team to integrate Filecoin and IPFS with our AI-driven asset management platform.
• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, including unit, integration, and end-to-end tests, for all protocol-related features.
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve complex issues related to Filecoin and IPFS protocols.
• Proactively monitor the health of our Filecoin and IPFS nodes and connections, identifying opportunities for performance improvements.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the Filecoin and IPFS ecosystems and incorporate best practices into our platform.

Requirements

• Deep, hands-on experience with Filecoin, including the inner workings of storage deals, retrieval markets, and SP proofs.
• Expert-level knowledge of IPFS, including CIDs, content routing, and data pinning strategies.
• Strong proficiency in a relevant programming language (e.g., Go, Rust, JavaScript, Python).
• Experience in developing, testing, and deploying decentralized applications (dApps).
• Solid understanding of decentralized network architectures and peer-to-peer protocols.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues in a distributed environment.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, remote-first team.

Desirable

• Experience with other Web3 technologies or blockchains.
• Knowledge of AI and machine learning concepts.
• Experience with performance and/or security testing in a decentralized context.
