Would it be possible to change the way images are shown on the backend? Instead of showing 1 image per row, it would be awesome if we could list on a grid format. Like show 6 images per row or let the user configure how many images per row to show.
That would make the user experience much better and easier to find images. This is an amazing extension, wish it was incorporated in the core of Typo3.

I thought of that. It would be indeed a nice visualisation. It would require quiet some work, though. But it is doable. For the list view, I use the DataTable jquery plugin - which is also used throughout the core BTW - which makes it easy to render such list. The API side of DataTable is also standardised with the BE - although not the nicest. Well, I see you coming, there also are a ton of plugins for such grid layout which would facilitate the work. I leave the point open for now, since it is not a quick task and would require quiet some manipulation to make all the pieces working together.
