Mains connected zigbee router with addressable leds

Hello,

im thinking about building a led backlight with sk6812 leds, an seeedstudio esp32c6 and zigbee connection. I will power the esp surely with mains voltage, so my thought was to use it as a zigbee router aswell.

Can anyone may tell me which zigbee example is the closest for my project? is this even possible? the most color lights are enddevices in the zigbee examples. But i want it as a router.

I would be grateful for any help. Thanks.

Hello @MeisterQ, changing the example that the device will run as a router is pretty simple. So you can use the ColorDimmableLight as its closest to your use case.

What you need to do are those simple steps:

1. In IDE Tools menu select proper Zigbee mode: Zigbee ZCZR (coordinator/router)
2. In IDE Tools menu select proper partition scheme: Zigbee ZCZR xMB ...
3. In the example you can change or remove this part, which is there to make sure you have selected proper zigbee mode in part 1.

   #ifndef ZIGBEE_MODE_ED
   #error "Zigbee end device mode is not selected in Tools->Zigbee mode"
   #endif
   

   you can change to:

   #ifndef ZIGBEE_MODE_ZCZR
   #error "Zigbee coordinator/router mode is not selected in Tools->Zigbee mode"
   #endif
   

4. Set the Zigbee mode in Zigbee.begin to router mode: Zigbee.begin(ZIGBEE_ROUTER)

That is everything and you device will now run as a Router :) If that helped feel free to close this discussion.

Worked. But i used on step 4 ZIGBEE_ROUTER not ZIGBEE_COORDINATOR.
