Start in full screen mode?

When I assign Textmate to one of my spaces in Lion and put it in full screen, it stays like that until I close it. When I reopen it, it doesn't open in full screen like some of the native apps, like Terminal for instance. Any way to make this an option? I'll just leave it open from now on ;)
