When I try to use proxies with httpx I get an SSL error.

The error here is informing you that you've got an SSL issue.

The SSL error isn't giving you much information, which isn't helpful, and it'd be interesting for us to dig into if we can do more to support users here. But we could also do with more hep from you.

Opening the issue you said "in the latest version" - does you code work on some versions but not others?
How about when using requests - do you get the same SSL error?
Can you make a request using curl via the same proxy?
