meteostat: project to collect and redistribute weather-data from DWD, NOAA, Environment Canada

I just stumbled upon the open-source project meteostat, which has the tag-line: "Weather and climate database providing detailed weather data for thousands of weather stations worldwide."

Basically "they" (I don't see a legal form ;) collect data from DWD, NOAA and Environment Canada, aggregate it in a big database, make it accessible with an API and provide python-library for it, too. Pretty much python inside.

What I didn't find so far is a word on coverage, especially on time. Spatial I assume more or less all WMO stations.
